Originally known as Hatfield Technical College, the institution gained its full status in the year 1961 by the Ministry of Education, UK. Hertfordshire is one of the home counties in southern England. It is bordered by Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire to the north, Essex to the east, Greater London to the south, and Buckinghamshire to the west. For government statistical purposes, it is placed in the East of England region.

In 1952 university was established and known as Hatfield Technical College, in 1992 it got university status.


University of Hertfordshire has two campuses – De Havilland and College Lane, Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
